The CDF Board of Directors and General Assembly include scientists, conservationists, natural resource managers, philanthropists, government officials, diplomats and people from many other professions and walks of life. Together they represent decades of service to and support for Galapagos science and conservation. Their wealth of experience and knowledge offers unsurpassed expertise to CDF.
These dedicated individuals provide an enabling environment for program implementation by providing human and financial resources, helping to build alliances with stakeholders, and effectively communicating the mission and successes of the CDF.
The Board works closely with the Executive Team and has committees for finance, fundraising, science and membership.
The General Assembly is CDF's highest authority and reflects the international character of the organization. Its members establish policy, issue regulations, elect the Board of Directors, and approve the operational plan and the budget, as well as other important CDF business. The General Assembly is made up of honorary, institutional, active and corresponding members.
The proceedings of the General Assembly and Board of Directors are governed by CDF’s Statutes, which can be changed by a vote of two-thirds of the Active Members.
