Land mammals

Where there are people there are always introduced species of land mammals, especially black rats, brown rats, cats and dogs. Galapagos is no exception. Of course there are also the domestic food sources that have been transported around the world as well, such as goats and pigs. Many of these animals, along with cats especially, have become feral and cause significant damage to native and endemic species.

Given the isolation of the islands and relative difficulty of land mammals to get to Galapagos without human intervention, these are far more common than naturally occurring land mammals.
