International Volunteers need to obtain a Diplomatic Visa (12III) before arriving in Ecuador. The procedure usually takes 3-4 weeks and is as follows:
- The volunteer contacts the Ecuadorian Embassy in their own country to request the fax number, e-mail address (if available), and the name of the person in chaexrge of visa procedures.
- The volunteer forwards this information to CDF (see address below).
- The CDF staff in charge of the Volunteer Program send an official letter to both the volunteer and the Ecuadorian Embassy or Consulate in the volunteer’s country, requesting the visa.
- The volunteer takes or sends their passport and CDF official letter to the nearest Ecuadorian Embassy or Consulate, which stamps the passport with the visa
The CDF will determine the appropriate Visa and the exact procedures for each case.
