Candidate experience

Student volunteers will be actively pursuing careers in environmental sciences and conservation. They must have completed 2 or more years of undergraduate work or enrolled in post-graduate programs. Specific openings may have additional requirements.

Professional volunteers will have multiple years of experience related to the assignment for which they are applying. Specific openings may have additional requirements.

Length of assignment

Volunteer assignments are generally for 6 months or more though specific openings may be available for a shorter duration of time.

Program costs

The CDF will cover the costs of the volunteer's journey at the beginning and end of the assignment, food, lodging as well as a contribution towards living expenses, and life and health insurance.
