Are There Really Penguins on the Equator???
Yes, there really are penguins on the equator in the Galapagos. Normally, penguins live in Antarctica where it is very cold, but some special penguins, called the 'Galapagos Penguins', can live here because there is a cold ocean current that sweeps through some of the islands. Near these islands, the Galapagos penguins make their home. If you are lucky, you may see them swimming underwater when you are out there with your mask and snorkel!
