We need your support!

3 months ago today, the Municipality of Santa Cruz closed the souvenir shop of the Charles Darwin Research Station. This closure did not follow Ecuadorian legal processes and wasn’t based on any Ecuadorian laws.

Our souvenir shop promotes "Ecuadorian Excellence" from all parts of the country with 90% of products from Ecuadorian brands. The entire income of the store is used to help fund the various activities of our research station, ranging from scholarships for local students, to paying for the maintenance of the Galapagos Natural History Collections and supporting science projects.

Having lost this income stream, and not knowing if or when it will return, the Charles Darwin Research Station and its staff is now facing the risk of closing down permanently. Click here for the full story behind the closing down of the store.
