Teacher resources

CDF works with local education authorities in Galapagos to develop and publish a range of teaching materials about environmental issues for use in Galapagos schools. Some of these may be useful for teachers in other parts of the world, particularly those serving Spanish speaking communities, and CDF is happy to make these available for teachers to download and use.

Teaching pack materialsThis pack is targeted for a general-public audience with an emphasis on students, educators and journalists. Armed with knowledge about the marine reserve and its array of species and habitats, teachers and journalists will be able to confidently educate about the distinctive marine and coastal habitats that make Galapagos like nowhere else on Earth.

Zonification - How and Why?
(Spanish only - pdf format 3.67 Mb)

Zoning, the third in a series of marine related publications produced by CDF for the Galapagos National Park, aims to help fill this knowledge gap, by explaining zoning and its benefits as a management tool. The educational package, which includes a video, brochure and hands-on exercises, is targeted at local authorities and journalists, as well as stakeholders and users of the Galapagos Marine Reserve.
