International Volunteers
May be students who are actively pursuing careers in environmental sciences and conservation or professional volunteers. Student volunteers must have completed 2+ years of undergraduate work or be enrolled in post-graduate programs. Opportunities for professional volunteers are more likely to be associated with management, administration, and strategic planning.
Expenses
International volunteers are responsible for paying their own travel costs, living expenses, and medical insurance. CDF can help the volunteer obtain a reduced airfare from Quito or Guayaquil to Galapagos. Lodging at the Research Station may be available for rental. Proof of life and health insurance is required.
Occasionally, the CDF is able to offer assistance to an international volunteer for living and/or travel expenses. This assistance depends on the nature and duration of the assignment, as well as on the availability of funds.
Timeframe
Volunteer assignments are generally for 6 months or more. Specific openings may available for shorter durations, 2-3 months.
Current openings
Volunteers for the sea turtles monitoring project at Galapagos nesting beaches.
Volunteer for Interpretive Services
Volunteer for FCD Librarian
