Solange Andrade

Junior Researcher in the Fisheries Project

Solange arrived in June 2016 as a volunteer to the Fisheries Program just before graduating from ESPOL (Guayaquil) as a biologist. She has always been interested in marine sciences and conservation; as she progressed in her career she turned to fisheries science. In her undergraduate thesis she worked with croaker's larvae fish in continental Ecuador with Dr. José Marín Jarrín.

Since 2017, Solange continues as Junior Researcher in the Fisheries project, carrying on ecological studies that seek to fill gaps to understand the biology of commercially important fish species for the artisanal fishing sector. Her objective is to contribute to the sustainability of the Galapagos fisheries.
