Diana Carolina Loyola is from Galapagos. At the age of 18, she began to collaborate in various CDF projects as a volunteer. She was a scholarship holder at the same institution from 2012 to 2016. She completed her undergraduate thesis in the seabird area of the CDF, on the concentration of heavy metals in three species of endemic seabirds of Galapagos, from which she obtained her degree in Biology with a mention in Ecology and Management at the University of Azuay. In 2019 she joined the project "Reducing the threat of boats to green turtles in Galapagos" as a project assistant.

She is passionate about getting out in the field, being part of the diversity of each of the species that live around her. In her work with sea turtles she mentions that they are very agile and strong species when they come up to the beach, besides being very peaceful, these species play a very important role in the ocean, besides being tourist attractions within the marine habitats.
