Macarena Iturralde

General Assembly Member

I am a biologist with a degree from the PUCE, Catholic University in Quito, Ecuador. My research project to graduate was carried out in Tagus Cove, when I studied the abundance and distribution of Ascidians and other marine invertebrates.
For over 20 years I was a naturalist guide and diver on board small yachts, sailboats and big ships that operate in the Galapagos Islands. I am also an environmental interpretation consultant as well as a consultant in marine invertebrates and environmental management.
In the last 20 years I worked as General Manager of a small boutique travel agency and tour operator for trips in Ecuador and Latin America, called Senderos Naturales. I have always dedicated my professional life to science and conservation. It is my passion to work for a better planet and assure its conservation for future generations.
Since Oct 2017 I am also a yoga teacher with training in Rishikesh, India.
