Plants tall, freely branched upward and flower with glandular-hispidulous trichomes, fruit that have one several or variably developed spines around the prominent apical rim very similar to L. darwinii.

Endangered

Distribution

Distribution: Species restricted to Española Island and four of its islets. The population on this island has not increased since goat eradication. Remains free of threats on the islets, but all populations show fluctuations.
