A large tree with a mottled bark with pinkish and white patches. The small leaves, flowers and fruit are all tinted with red. The tree is normally covered in moss.
Species erroneously annotated as Psidium galapageium Hook. f., has been corrected to P. galapagaeum Hook. f. (18th Jun 2021, Patricia Jaramillo & María del Mar Trigo)
