Diego Núñez

Administrative Science Manager

Diego is the Administrative Science Manager since 2016 and is responsible for officiating administrative and scientific programs in front of public institutions such as the Galapagos National Park Directorate and the Galapagos Biosecurity Agency and Ministry of Environment, Water and Ecological Transition. She has a Master's Degree in Environmental Projects and a Bachelor's Degree in Ecotourism, and has experience working on conservation and tourism issues at the national level and specifically in the Protected Areas of the province of Galapagos.

Conservation of Galapagos Marine birds

Galapagos penguins, flightless cormorants, waved albatross, and flamingos are among the most iconic birds in Galapagos. Yet, these sentinel species are all classified as threatened on the International Union for Conservation of Nature’s Red List, and face continued risk of population decline.
