David Chillagana

Meteorology Assistant

David, a resident of Santa Cruz Island, has been actively involved in conservation efforts since childhood. Currently in the final semester of his Business Administration and Management degree at the Instituto Universitario Rumiñahui, he joined the CDF in May 2018 as a volunteer for the Meteorology project. During this experience, he gained an appreciation for the crucial role of climatological data in Galapagos research.

In January 2021, David transitioned to a role as a meteorology assistant within the CDF staff. His responsibilities include daily collection of climatological data, entry of observations into the database, and direct communication with the National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology (INAMHI).
