Type locality: Post Office Bay, Isla Santa Maria, Galápagos Islands (Taylor 1945: 233, 234). Holotype: W.R. Taylor no. 34-360; 27 January 1934; Hancock Foundation (Taylor 1945: 233, 234). Notes: Type (cystocarpic) dredged from 12-18 m.
