Julio Delgado

Operations Coordinator

My name is Julio Delgado from San Cristobal Island. I came to CDF in March 1999 as a volunteer in the marine biology area, BIOMAR, in the Fisheries Monitoring project.

In February 2000 I became part of the Biomar staff doing multifunctional activities where I helped train biologists for the Macroinvertebrate Monitoring. I was also responsible for navigation and dives.

In July 2012, I was the CDF Head of Maintenance and was in charge of: accommodation, cleaning, vehicle maintenance, telephones, water supply, rubbish collection system, logistical assistance for scientists, among others. In July 2021, I was promoted to Operations Coordinator, reporting to Johanna Carrión. The new responsibilities of my position include managing a larger and more functional team; I am in charge of logistics, purchasing, warehousing, accommodation and maintenance of the CDF.

CDF is my home, it is the institution that saw me grow up. I arrived as a young boy and I received training here. I am currently DIVEMASTER SSI, and I hope to continue to be a pillar of support within the CDF.
