Renee Monroe

Chief Philantropy Officer

Renee Monroe joined the Charles Darwin Foundation (CDF) as Chief Philantropy Officer in May 2018. She first visited and became passionate about the archipelago during a trip in 2009.

Prior to joining CDF, Renee spent twenty years in global development for education, health, sanitation, livelihoods and emergency response programs to assist children and families in poverty. She also has extensive experience in major gift and foundation work for U.S. based medical centers and universities.

As Chief Philantropy Officer, Renee is responsible for the development, implementation and management of all aspects of fundraising strategies for CDF. Based in New York, she plays a key role in strengthening the Foundation´s presence in multiple local and international sectors.

The “Charles Darwin Foundation for the Galapagos Islands”, in French “Fondation Charles Darwin pour les îles Galapagos”, Association International sans but lucratif (“AISBL”), has its registered office located at Drève du Pieuré 19, 1160 Brussels, and is registered under the trade registry of Brussels under the number 0409.359.103.
