Mariuxi López

Visiting Scientists Program Officer

Mariuxi joined the Charles Darwin Foundation (CDF) in April 2018 as Executive Directorate Assistant. After eight years of experience in the Administrative Department, she decided to take on a new professional challenge in the Science Department, assuming the role of Visiting Scientists Program Officer in July 2026.

Her experience at the CDF, combined with her previous work in the fields of education, tourism, and conservation, has contributed significantly to her professional growth. Academically, she holds a Technical Degree in Tourism Management and a Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Management from Universidad San Francisco de Quito.

In her current role, Mariuxi supports visiting and collaborating scientists, as well as graduate and undergraduate students, interns, and fellows involved in the Foundation's scientific projects. She coordinates and facilitates the administrative and logistical processes necessary to ensure the successful implementation of research activities.

Mariuxi is proud to be part of the Charles Darwin Foundation and deeply values its mission, as well as its collaborative, welcoming work environment and strong commitment to the conservation of the Galápagos Islands.
