Roberto Maldonado

Communications and Media Officer

Roberto Javier Maldonado Escobar is the Communications Officer in charge of traditional media at the Charles Darwin Foundation. A journalist and strategic planner, he brings over 20 years of professional experience in Galápagos, combining institutional communication, public management, and planning in environments linked to sustainable development.

His career has been closely connected to communication for conservation, leading and supporting processes in education, social participation, and institutional positioning aimed at strengthening the relationship between community, science, and territory. This experience has enabled him to develop a strategic perspective on the role of communication in ecosystem protection and in building local identity.

He holds a Master’s degree in Strategic Planning and Management and a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism and Social Communication. He is fluent in Spanish, English, and French.
