Bryan Vallejo
Knowledge Manager
Bryan joined the Charles Darwin Foundation in 2024 as Knowledge Manager in the project “Habla Tiburón”. Previously, worked as Geoinformatics Specialist in the GIS Science Laboratory for Sustainable Transitions (GIST Lab) at Aalto University in Finland. His experience is based on Spatial Data Science with High-performance computing (HPC), processing and parallelization of spatial big data, data visualization, automation GIS, and Python development. Also, he has been acknowledged as a “Copernicus Master 2022” from Portugal (Azores Islands) and awarded in the “Blue Cloud - Decode the Ocean 2022” science Hackathon, for his project the “Wildlife Tracker EO”, a software dedicated to analyses and visualization of GPS data obtained with wildlife tags and ecological layers obtained with Copernicus satellite constellation. Bryan is MSc from the University of Tartu (Estonia) and specialist in Automation GIS from the University of Helsinki (Finland). He dedicates his free time to dancing and reading, speaks English and Spanish, and is an online collaborator of Open Science.
