Japanese institutions donate food to Galapagos

--- Press Release --- The Japanese Association for Galapagos (日本ガラパゴスの会 JAGA) and Una Gotita del Colibrí Project, donated 150 boxes of food on Isabela Island and 100 food kits on Santa Cruz Island to vulnerable families in the Galapagos community, which have been affected by the economic crisis generated by the Covid19 pandemic. The donation was made possible thanks to the support, logistics, and coordination of the Charles Darwin Foundation (CDF).

The food was delivered on June 11 on Isabela Island, thanks to the support of Mrs. Gloria Yoconda Flor Yépez, Urban Councilor of the Island, while in Santa Cruz the delivery was made on July 4, thanks to the support of the Frente Insular group.

"This support would not have been possible without the cooperation of many people, including CDF staff and Japanese supporters. We are very happy to be able to give our love and respect to the people of Galapagos. We look forward to visiting them and seeing them again in Galapagos.” Tamaki Okuno, JAGA representative, commented.
