Abstract:
Beetles (order Coleoptera) are one of the groups that inhabit this unique ecosystem. They play an important ecological role by contributing to the decomposition of organic matter, nutrient recycling, and the natural control of other insect populations.
In addition, they are valuable bioindicators, as their presence or absence often reflects various external factors, such as the loss of native vegetation or the presence of invasive species. Therefore, this guide aims to highlight the diversity of endemic beetles in the Scalesia forest of Santa Cruz.
